Ahhh, yes....
I'll add info here
This is a great tablet, still the best Super AMOLED screen of its size I've ever used.

Details

The Galaxy Tab S is Samsung's 2014 Flagship Android tablet, taking direct aim at the high-range tablet market.

The Galaxy Tab S is available in two sizes, 8.4" and 10.5". I have the 10.5 " version.

They come in Wifi-only and Wifi + LTE versions. I have the Wifi-only version.

Internal storage comes in at either 16 GB or 32 GB options. I have the 16 GB version.

All come with 3 GB of RAM, a generous amount at the time.

The Galaxy Tab S was the first Samsung tablet to be fitted with the highly praised Super AMOLED display, which IMHO was and still is the defining characteristic of this device.

This can be expanded with a microSD card, up to 128GB.

Other features include:

  • Circa: 2014
  • My model: SM-T800 ( aka chagallwifi )
  • Fingerprint reader

Operations

Reset Password

Forgot your password? If you've got TWRP installed and your device is NOT encrypted, you can bypass the lock screen with the following: Credit goes to adithyan25 at SSS XDA Developers' forum

  • Turn the device off
  • Boot into recovery mode (XXX)
  • Perform a TWRP Backup, just in case something goes wrong
  • Use the TWRP terminal (or file manager if you must) to rename the following files:
    • /data/system/password.key
    • /data/system/pattern.key
    • /data/system/locksettings.db
    • /data/system/locksettings.db-shm
    • /data/system/locksettings.db-wal
I just appended .old and that worked for me.
  • Reboot into the normal system
  • The lock screen should now only require a swipe, no pattern or password
